NowText offers online transcription from audio, video, and supported links, along with media processing tools. This policy covers personal information involved when you visit nowtext.ai, use these features, or contact us.

It explains how information is handled and how to make a privacy request. Before submitting content about other people, make sure you have the necessary permission.

2. Information covered

The information we process depends on the features you use and your interactions with us:

• Account information: your email and related details used to sign in and manage your account. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive and store an account identifier, email, and, when available, your name and profile picture through our authentication service to create or recognize your account, display your profile, and provide access to task history. We do not receive your third-party account password or use this sign-in to read emails, contacts, calendars, or Drive files.
• Content: audio and video you upload, links or shared text containing links you submit, media retrieved to carry out processing, and transcripts or other results you generate or edit.
• Communications: feedback, questions, and contact details you choose to provide.
• Service activity: visits and feature usage, device and network information, and records used to diagnose problems and protect the service.

3. Why we use information

Account information is used for sign-in, profile display, and account security. It is not sold, used for personalized advertising, or used by NowText to train generalized AI models.

We use information in connection with the services you request, including to:

• Process media and links, and generate, save, and display results.
• Maintain account access, task history, and related actions.
• Answer questions, handle feedback, and investigate problems.
• Understand usage and improve features, compatibility, and reliability.
• Identify abuse and security risks, and meet applicable legal obligations.

4. Grounds for processing

Where applicable law requires a basis for processing, it depends on the purpose: fulfilling our agreement to provide the service, legitimate interests in keeping it secure and operational, meeting legal obligations, or your consent.

Where processing relies on consent, you may contact us to withdraw it. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing but may affect features that depend on the information.

Account information is processed by authentication, hosting, and storage providers for the associated account features. An identifier associated with your NowText account may also be used for usage analysis and diagnostics. Sharing and disclosure are limited to the purposes described in this policy.

Information may also be disclosed to meet applicable legal requirements, address fraud or security incidents, or protect the legitimate rights of users and the service. External websites and platforms are responsible for their own information practices; consult their privacy notices when using them.

7. Keeping and deleting information

Retention depends on the type of information, service needs, unresolved issues, and applicable legal requirements. Account information is retained while needed for account access and related services, and may be retained longer for security incidents, unresolved requests or disputes, or legal obligations. Content, communication, and activity records support result management, support requests, and security.

You can remove tasks from your history, but doing so does not immediately erase all associated data. To request deletion of personal information or account closure, email us using the address on this page. We will verify the request and explain any applicable retention requirements.

Download files and results you need to keep. NowText does not guarantee permanent archiving.

8. Protecting information

We use encrypted connections, authentication, and access controls to protect personal information and reduce the risk of unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. Internet transmission and storage still involve risks, so we cannot promise absolute security.

Protect your sign-in credentials and take care when submitting private or confidential content. Contact us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account or content.

9. Processing across regions

Information may be stored and processed outside your country or region to deliver the online service. Data protection requirements can differ between locations.

10. Managing your information

You can use the available tools to edit transcripts, download results, and remove tasks. Depending on applicable law, you may also make the following requests:

• Revoke NowText’s authorization in your sign-in provider’s connection settings. This prevents further access through that authorization but does not automatically delete your NowText account or stored information. The service is not intended for children under 13. Higher age requirements or parental authorization rules under local law also apply.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child provided personal information without the required authorization, contact us so we can investigate and address it.

We may revise this policy when the service or our information practices change, and show the latest revision date on this page. We will handle changes that require additional notice or consent in accordance with applicable law.
